AA Four Diamond Guest Accommodation
BuiltWithNOF

“Chy” is the Cornish word for “House”, and Chy an Creet was built in 1923 or thereabouts.  It is understood that soon after, the owner suggested to potter Bernard Leach that the plot opposite might make a good site for his new pottery on his return to Cornwall from Japan.

Chy an Creet has been much extended over the years and now has 8 guest rooms, two guest lounges and a large breakfast room available to our guests.  Add to that free parking on site at no extra cost and a full English breakfast included and you begin to see why some of our guests return year after year and recommend us to their friends.

We take great care over making sure that Chy an Creet is as clean and comfortable as possible for our guests and do not allow pets inside the hotel.  We make an exception for working or “assist” dogs and we try to make discreet provision for our guests’ special needs.

St. Ives Bay’s amazing golden sandy beaches are within 10 minutes’ walk from Chy an Creet. Here you can swim, surf, sunbathe or build sandcastles. Our nearest beach, Porthmeor, has been awarded European Blue Flag status for its cleanliness and facilities.

Chy an Creet is conveniently situated near to where the edge of town meets West Cornwall’s enchanting Penwith Moors to the west.  Here you can walk the ancient Tinners’ Way or the Coastal Path, visit antiquities such as the Nine Maidens,  Men an Tol or Lanyon Quoit, explore the little Zennor Folk Museum or inspect the lifeboats which are ever ready to respond to any maritime emergency.
